My Summer Bag

I've been working on this bag for a few weeks now and I'm pleased to say it's finished and getting lots of use already!  I used the tutorial from Lucy at Attic24.
I also used her pattern for the flowers - she has such lovely projects on her blog.
Lining the bag was all my own doing.  I cut a circle of fabric just slightly bigger than the bottom of my bag then made a tube big enough to fit inside and sewed them together.  I decided it would be handy to make a phone pocket too.

I also decided to line the handles to stop them stretching with use.  I'm really pleased with the end result.  The weather in Ireland can be a bit iffy but at least my bright bag brings a bit of cheer no matter what :-)

A Little Bit of Bling...

I recently purchased a Rhinestone Setter Kit so I decided to add a bit of bling to some plain t-shirts of the girls.  I've never done anything like this before so I decided to try something simple.  It was a little tricky as the stones had a tendency to get stuck in the heating tool once the glue melted but I'm pleased with the results.  Even better they've survived the wash and all stones are still attached to the shirts.

Tuesday Night Knitting Club

Every Tuesday we meet in town for our weekly fix of knitting and crafting together in O'Connor's bar.
We are always working on a variety of makes from cardigans to Hexipuffs...
Time to read a few knitting magazines...
Time to work with beautiful silk yarn...
Time to make a hula skirt...
Time to figure out the next part of the pattern...

If you're me, time to sit back and look at the progress so far on my bag...
And most importantly time to spend with friends who share a passion for crafting!

Long time no post....

You know how it is, you keep meaning to update your blog but never seem to get around to it...
Anyway I've been busy crafting away and here are a few of the items I've made.  First some very brightly coloured Easter Bunnies - I got the pattern off the net (sorry can't find the link!) then had to resize the pattern to fit the squares of felt I had.  Both my lovely girls adored them.
I also absolutely loved the pattern in Crochet Today for the little kitty cats.  As the majority of my stash is DK though I used it instead of worsted and a smaller hook.  Can't wait for the next edition of Crochet Today and the Dutch outfit for the cats!
One of my friends was kind enough to give me a ball of Lilly Sugar n Cream and as there was enough to make two wash cloths I made one for her but haven't got around to making one for me yet!
I bought a pot of tete a tete from Tesco but didn't have a suitable pot to put them in so whipped up this little cover using UK double treble stitches so it would work up fast.
The above brooch I made for my Mum who recently turned the grand young age of 70!  I started off doing the Irish rose pattern from 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet but got stuck after the 2nd round so just did my own thing....
And finally a couple of thistles for my friend too.  The pattern was also from 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet but this time I managed to follow the pattern!

Currently I'm hooking up two things from Lucy of Attic24, a bag and a ripple blanket.  I might get them finished if I didn't keep slotting in other projects in between :-)
